The University of Pittsburgh’s Studio Arts Senior Seminar class collaborated with Future Studio on a commission for the 2023 Pennsylvania Climate Convergence.
The resulting project, The Watchers, consists of a freestanding sculpture and a public projection. The sculpture formed the backdrop for the People’s Hearing on Climate Change, where citizens of Pennsylvania shared stories of how the changing climate impacts them. The sculpture will be exhibited in the capitol for the month of October. The projection was one of the closing events for the Festival of the Planet event.
